Vectorworks: Rigging & Lighting Drawing
Pre-Engineering vs. the Stamp
A drawing tool, a spreadsheet, or an AI performs pre-engineering: layout, first-pass loads, sanity checks, a plausible starting plot. The real rigging plot for anything overhead that can hurt someone must be signed and stamped by a licensed Professional Engineer and verified against the venue's structure and rigging plot. Loads, points, and bridles you compute are estimates to be checked, never approvals to fly. ETCP-certified riggers plus a PE own the air; your job is to get the designer to a clean, plausible design fast and honestly.
The exam is drawn from this material, and you need a perfect score to earn the credential. You can retake it as many times as you need.
