Touring & Live Music
What touring actually is
Touring is live production at speed and scale: the same show is built, run, and struck in a new city every day. It runs on a small travelling core plus a fresh local crew at each stop, so the discipline is standardization — a repeatable rig and rehearsed sequence, adapted per venue rather than reinvented nightly. Two forces make or break it: ruthless advancing (knowing each building before you arrive) and standardized systems (the show is the same everywhere so the local crew can plug into it). Contrast this with a one-off, like a single festival date or corporate concert, which is built and struck in a single day.
The exam is drawn from this material, and you need a perfect score to earn the credential. You can retake it as many times as you need.
