The Advance and the Production Book

To advance a show is to gather and reconcile every fact the show depends on, then write it down so the whole team works from one source of truth: the production book. That book holds the schedule (load-in through show through load-out, with crew calls), the technical rider, the venue tech pack, the gear list, the labor plan by classification, trucking, contacts, and run-of-show. The governing principle to remember: the quality of the advance is the single biggest predictor of a smooth show, because most so-called show-day problems are advance failures that simply surfaced late.

The exam is drawn from this material, and you need a perfect score to earn the credential. You can retake it as many times as you need.
