The Anatomy of a Corporate Show
Corporate events — conferences, conventions, launches, keynotes, galas — are the largest and steadiest slice of the live-event economy; the production craft is the same as touring or theatre, but the client, the room, and the money differ. The marquee room is the general session ("gen session"): a stage, a large LED wall (or projection blends), audio, lighting, IMAG so the back of the room can see the speakers, content playback, and a podium or set. Surrounding it are breakouts (smaller concurrent sessions, each a modest AV package), plus registration, sponsor/exhibit floor, and networking or meal functions. Structurally, a conference is one heavily-produced gen session plus many parallel breakouts — each footprint needing its own gear and labor.
The exam is drawn from this material, and you need a perfect score to earn the credential. You can retake it as many times as you need.
