AVIXA and the CTS credential family

AVIXA — the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (formerly InfoComm) — is the ANSI-accredited standards developer, trade-show producer, and certifier for pro AV. Its Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential is the industry's baseline professional cert, with two specialist tracks layered on top: CTS-D for design and CTS-I for install. A fourth credential, the AVIXA Network Professional (ANP), covers the AV-over-IP and networking track. Live-event production and pro AV overlap heavily — same physics, much of the same gear, and increasingly the same clients — so this credential map is also a competency map for the TD.

The exam is drawn from this material, and you need a perfect score to earn the credential. You can retake it as many times as you need.
